A man is accused of fatally stabbing his father in the Philadelphia suburbs and taking out one of the 74-year-old victim's eyeballs. Montgomery County prosecutors allege 30-year-old Preston Lonnberg-Lane used a butter knife to stab Thomas Lane in the head, neck and arm in their Lansdale home on March 27.
A shooting late Tuesday night in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood left one victim dead and another wounded. Police said officers were called to the 1300 block of Paulson Avenue shortly before midnight after receiving multiple reports of shots being fired. Officers arrived on the scene to find a male victim lying in the street.
A fatal crash late Tuesday night shut down a nearly 100-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the eastbound lanes in Jefferson Township, Somerset County. A turnpike spokesman said it involved a tractor trailer and two other vehicles.
