A 47-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot and wounded early Sunday morning in North Philadelphia. The incident led to a barricade situation at a nearby residence. Officers responded to a shooting on the 2400 block of West Oakdale Street around 12:21 a.m. The victim was shot once in the left shoulder and transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was placed in stable condition.
Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting that injured two teens in South Philadelphia. The shooting occurred on the 700 block of Montrose Street at approximately 12:13 a.m. A 17-year-old Hispanic male was shot once in the right ring finger, and a 15-year-old Hispanic male sustained a graze wound to the right forearm. Both victims were transported by private vehicles to Methodist Hospital and placed in stable condition.
Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on the 5800 block of Lindbergh Boulevard on November 2, 2023, at approximately 11:37 p.m. A 34-year-old Black male was shot once in the back. He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by private vehicle and is listed in stable condition.
3 day agoA 70-year-old man died in a house fire late Saturday night in North Philadelphia.
Police and fire crews responded to a 911 call reporting a fire at 16xx Fontain Street at approximately 10:43 p.m. The Philadelphia Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire by 11:08 p.m. Upon extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered the body of a 70-year-old Black male inside the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:10 p.m.

He was transported to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center by police and pronounced dead at 9:23 PM. The scene is held, no weapons were recovered, and no arrests have been made.
